Mumbai Indians might not have won a single game this season but their captain Rohit Sharma has been at his usual best on the ground. In the match against the Lucknow Super Giants, on the last ball of the 7th over of the first innings, Rohit Sharma claimed a ‘crowd catch’ and entertained the spectators.

Murugan Ashwin was bowling the 7th over and Manish Pandey was on strike, Ashwin bowled the ball fuller outside the off stump, and Pandey tried to play it towards the cover where Rohit Sharma had positioned himself. Pandey didn’t connect well as it came off from the bottom of his bat, it was a bump ball but Sharma claimed the catch which left even Manish Pandey laughing at the moment.

Lucknow Super Giants Starts Well Against Mumbai Indians

MI after having lost 5 games on the trot in season 15, won the toss and chose to field first against LSG. LSG got off to a good start they raced towards 50 within the powerplay. Fabian Allen playing his first game for Mumbai Indians provided them with the breakthrough as he got Quinton de Kock’s wicket.

Manish Pandey made a comeback into the side then started his innings with a boundary but then slowed down to settle in the middle. Pandey has struggled for runs in the tournament so far which also saw him get dropped from the side. In the past seasons as well he was dropped by his previous franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad for batting too slowly in the middle.

It’s more or a less a do or die game for MI as if they lose this game they most certainly would be out of the reckoning for a spot in the playoffs. While LSG is in a far better position having won 3 games out of the 5 they have played.
