Umran Malik of SunRisers Hyderabad has praised bowling coach Dale Steyn for his achievements in the Indian Premier League this season.
Umran, who is in his maiden complete Tournament, has rattled batsmen with his raw pace and propensity to throw blistering yorkers.
After the encounter, the bowler talked to Bhuvneshwar Kumar for the IPL website and remarked that Dale Steyn’s effort has helped him improve significantly.
“If I’m in the nets for three hours, he’ll stay behind me and guide me for three hours.”
When asked about his pace, Umran replied it comes naturally to him and that all he wants to do is bowl as quickly as he can.
“Even when we were playing with a tennis ball, people didn’t want to bat against me because I was so quick,” claimed the paceman, who has bowled the fastest delivery in the IPL this season at 157 KMPH.

Umran was probed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar about the Jammu-born born celebration and the rationale behind it. The pacer stated it was inspired by his SRH mentor, Dale Steyn.
“I did the punch celebration after I took wickets in the nets one day and it just stayed with me,” the Jammu native joked.
With only one encounter remaining, SRH will be looking for a strong win to keep them statistically in contention for the playoffs. For them to make a late entry, the IPL points table must be knotted at 14. SRH currently has a -0.230 net run rate, making it extremely improbable that they will make the playoffs.
SunRisers upset Mumbai Indians by three runs on the night, surviving a scare from Tim David, who single-handedly hauled Mumbai back into the match with an incredible 46-off 18-balls knock. This harmed SRH’s chances of winning by a large margin, lowering their table NRR.
