Rahul Tripathi has been in tremendous touch in IPL 2022. He has got the most runs for an uncapped Indian player this season.
Tripathi was at his best in an all-important game against Mumbai Indians on Tuesday.

He scored his third fifty of the season and helped his side win an important game. He scored 76 runs off 46 balls which included 9 fours and 3 sixes.
Tripathi came out to bat early in the innings as Abhishek Sharma got out early. But then he along with Priyam Garg added 78 runs for the 2nd wicket.
Tripathi went after Jasprit Bumrah in his very first over as he hit him for 3 boundaries in one over. Tripathi was aggressive against the spinners as well.
Garg’s dismissal didn’t stop Tripathi from playing his natural game as he continued his attacking intent. He got great support from Nicholas Pooran who scored 39 runs off 22 balls.
Tripathi was in full acceleration mode in the slog over but he mistimed a shot on Ramandeep Singh’s bowling and got out.
But before being dismissed he did his job just alright as he gave his side the right platform to score close to 200 runs. In the end his innings proved effective as SRH won the game by 3 runs.
Tripathi after the game said, “ I’ve enjoyed batting at three. It’s important that if the openers have given a good start, then I can continue that. Or whatever the situation demands I’m trying to learn from that. Bumrah’s a great bowler. Was just looking to react to whatever he’s bowling. Depends on how the wicket is playing, and how I can counterattack at that point. If it’s there and I can take it on, I will definitely go for the shot. If it’s not there then I’ll just look to take those singles-doubles.
To win games is more important, happy I could do that today. Sometimes when a bowler is bowling well, how to score those runs. In T20 there cannot be a moment where you can slow down. Every ball is an event so I just think about what could be the best result. When you play it’s obviously your dream to represent your country“, he further added.
Tripathi would be hoping that the selectors note his performances and pick him for the T20 series against South Africa.
