PBKS vs GT: Twitter Reacts As Shubman Gill Misses His First IPL Century By 4 Runs

Shubman Gill played his best innings in the Indian Premier League as he scored 96 runs off 59 balls and helped his team Gujarat Titans make it 3 wins in a row.

This masterclass of knock was preceded by a marvellous 84 runs against the Delhi Capitals. Gill looked in great touch from the word go as he scored two back to back boundaries in the first over of the chase itself.

Earlier in the day, Punjab Kings’ were put to bat first and they posted 189 on the board on the back of a quickfire 64 off 27 balls by Liam Livingstone. They could have posted a bigger total had they not lost wickets in the pile towards the end. At one time it seemed as if they won’t even touch 170 but a cameo in the end by Rahul Chahar led them to 189.

Shubman Gill At His Very Best, Scores 96 Runs

Gujarat Titans chase alright as they raced to 32 runs, but then Kagiso Rabada removed Matthew Wade. Gill though was unfazed by the hit as he went about his business quite alright.

He along with Sai Sudarshan stitched together a great partnership in the middle. The best part of Gill’s innings was that he didn’t play a lot of dot balls. He was especially very good at backfoot as he easily found the gaps both on the side and the offside.

Gill had things in control until he got out. He was middle everything until he got out on full toss to Rabada in the penultimate over of the 2nd innings. GT still needed quite a few runs to win and in trying to hit a boundary over covers, he miscued his shot and was caught by Mayank Agarwal.
