MS Dhoni has been a name synonymous with Chennai Super Kings. Even though he has played and captained Rising Pune Supergiant when CSK was banned for a couple of years, not many fans remember Dhoni for his stint at that franchise.

On Wednesday, MS Dhoni achieved the massive milestone of playing his 200th game for a single franchise. This shows his commitment to the franchise and also tells us about his longevity in the league.

MS Dhoni Has Played More Than 200 Games In The IPL

MS Dhoni has played more than 230 games in IPL. But 30 of those games were for Pune Supergiant in 2016 and 2017. He led Supergiant in 2016 but was replaced as captain by Steve Smith in 2017. That was the first time that he didn’t lead an IPL side in the tournament.

Virat Kohli is the only other player to have played over 200 matches for a single franchise. Since making his debut for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2008, he has now featured in 219 games for them. He is also the only player to be part of a just a single franchise for 15 years.

MS Dhoni has been one of the best leaders in the IPL as he has led CSK to 4 IPL championships. CSK is also the team with the most number of appearances in IPL finals which includes the runners-up performance in the inaugural edition of the tournament.

CSK won the trophy under him in 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021. He also led CSK to two title victories in the now-defunct Champions League T20.

The 2nd in the list to have played the most games for CSK is Suresh Raina who featured in 176 games for the team. But earlier in the year, he went unsold in the mega auctions.
