The effectiveness of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga in IPL 2022 has not pleased former Indian batsman Ajay Jadeja. The Sri Lankans’ abilities, according to Jadeja, have been below par, and the team should begin to look elsewhere.

Hasaranga, 24, was bought by Bangalore for 10.75 crores at the IPL auction in February. He has 15 wickets at an average of 18.20 and an economy rate of 8.03 in 10 IPL 2022 matches.

Although becoming RCB’s leading wicket-taker already this year, Jadeja believes the team should start experimenting with different options. The former cricketer Ajay Jadeja addressed Cricbuzz before the franchise’s match against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Pune on Wednesday (4 May).

“Hasaranga hasn’t wowed with the ball in ten matches,” Jadeja said.

He was bought with a lot of hype, although he’s only bowled two or three overs in some of the matches. I don’t believe he has met my expectations. The team includes Indian spinners. They can tweak the entire calculation and bring in a pure bowler if they wish.

“Hasaranga hits as well, but the game is already finished by the time he steps in. RCB might replace Hasaranga with a competent bowler who can assist Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj, and Josh Hazlewood.”

When contrasting the situations of Bangalore and Chennai in IPL 2022, Jadeja believes that RCB will be under more burden because they are is in with hopes of reaching the playoffs.

“RCB is under more pressure because they fear losing more.” They are is in with a possibility of qualifying, but if they fail here, they may come to regret their late-game wobble. It’s all positive for Chennai from where they’re coming in,” Ajay Jadeja Added.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore are currently in fifth place on the season’s standings.
