RCB vs PBKS: Two Points The Most Crucial Thing For Us - Mayank Agarwal After 54-run Win vs RCB
It was a must-win game for Punjab Kings and they turned up at their best as they defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 54 runs.
This win has kept them in the hunt for the last 4 spots. Mayank Agarwal was a happy captain as he said that his team was brilliant with the bat.
We Were Briliant With The Bat: Mayank Agarwal
Jonny Bairstow was at his destructive best as he blasted a 21 ball fifty. He scored 66 off 29 balls. His English teammate Liam Livingstone scored his 4th fifty of the season as he hit humongous sixes and powered his way through 70 off 42 balls.
These two innings helped PBKS post 209 runs on the board after being asked to bat first.
Their bowlers also did a tremendous job defending the target as all the 5 bowlers got wickets. Rishi Dhawan got the important wickets of Faf du Plessis and Mahipal Lamror. While Kagiso Rabada got the wicket of Virat Kohli. When Rajat Patidar and Glenn Maxwell were going well, Rahul Chahar and Harpreet Brar came to dismiss them respectively.
In the end overs, Arshdeep Singh got the important wicket of Dinesh Karthik and sealed the game for PBKS. RCB eventually lost the game by 54 runs.
Agarwal on the win said, “We were brilliant with the bat. The wicket was holding up a bit. The way Jonny and Livi batted, was amazing. We haven’t changed a lot to be honest, just about understanding a few situations, understanding the wicket. Have to be adaptable and flexible which we have been, which is nice. Can’t be too defensive with the ball. If batsmen get going, it doesn’t matter, the boundaries don’t matter these days. Two points are the most crucial thing for us. As long as the job gets done, I’m fine batting at five.”
On Arshdeep thing he said, “Very very energetic person, very confident guy (Arshdeep). Enjoys his cricket. Must say he’s the leader in the team. He rallies around everyone, takes up the responsibility, even goes up and speaks to the bowlers sometimes.”
Punjab fans would hope that the team can win their last two games and can find a place in the playoffs.
