So far 15 editions of the marquee Indian Premier League have been played and the current IPL title holder franchise is Gujarat Titans, which recently won the IPL 2022.

In the Indian Premier League 2022 two new teams – Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Gujarat Titans (GT) – were added to the cash-rich league to make the league more exciting.

With the introduction of the two new teams, a ten-team format was created by the governing body where 74 matches were played, significantly greater than the 60 matches from the previous season.

Several big names in the Indian entertainment industry have come forward to acquire IPL’s digital media rights.

However, according to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) source, the ace industrial house of India could win the bid as they have been fully active in the entertainment and sports industry and they also have been part of the Indian Premier League for a long period of time.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) source also said that the current digital media rights holder of the Indian Premier League is not interested in renewing the contract.

“Yes, the digital media rights for the IPL can go to one of the biggest industrial houses of the country as they are fully active in the entertainment and sports industry and also they are a part of the league for a long time. As the current right holder is not interested in renewing their contract and the reason behind this is not clear,” BCCI source told ANI.
