Sachin Tendulkar relished the close encounter between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the first qualifier. Men in Yellow was able to come up roses by two wickets as the match went down to the wire.

After being put into bat, the Orange Army was able to put 139 runs on the board. Kane Williamson side didn’t have the best starts as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Windies T20 skipper Carlos Brathwaite was able to take SRH total to 139 with his knock of 43 runs off just 29 balls.

Faf du Plessis came up with his piece de resistance.

However, a target of 140 runs was expected to be a cakewalk for the Chennai team. But Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers did make the chase difficult for the MS Dhoni team. Bhuvneshwar Kumar struck early to sent back Shane Watson. Meanwhile, Siddharth Kaul, Sandeep Sharma and Rashid Khan kept striking at regular intervals to keep Sunrisers noses in front.

The first qualifier of the IPL 2018 kept swinging like a pendulum as both teams had the advantage at some point in the game. Thus, Sachin Tendulkar related the match to a roller coaster ride. Sachin added that Chennai didn’t lose their heart whereas the Sunrisers played their hearts out.

However, the credit of CSK win goes to South African skipper Faf du Plessis who scored an unbeaten 67 off just 42 balls. Meanwhile, the Men in Yellow had their backs against the wall in their chase of 140. MS Dhoni-led team also kept losing wickets at regular intervals wickets which kept them behind the eight ball.

Sachin took to Twitter to share his thoughts. The Master Blaster post read as, “What a game. A total roller coaster ride. @ChennaiIPL didn’t lose heart and @SunRisers played their hearts out!! Well done guys ? #SRHvCSK”.
