Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner, Shah Rukh Khan has expressed his joy after his team’s win in the eliminator against Rajasthan Royals.

While playing in their backyard, Kolkata was able to cruise to 25 runs win. Subsequently, the two times champions will now lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Qualifier 2 of IPL 2018 on Friday.

Kolkata Knight Riders had their backs against the wall when they were tottering in their batting innings.

The home side were 51 for four at one stage. However, Kolkata’s captain Dinesh Karthik came to the rescue of his team, as he scored a fine knock of 52 off 38 balls.

The Under-19 sensation, Shubman Gill also provided the impetus in the middle overs. The right-hander scored a quickfire 28 runs off 17 balls. Shah Rukh Khan also appreciated the young lad for his brisk knock.

Meanwhile, the finishing touches were provided by Kolkata’s all-rounder Andre Russell. The Windies combative batsman scored a fine 49 off 25 balls. Russell was also adjudged the Man of the Match.

While defending 169, Kolkata bowlers didn’t let the Rajasthan batsmen off the hook, as they halted their innings on 144. Piyush Chawla was able to scalp two wickets and conceded only 24 runs in his quota of four overs.

Kolkata Knight Riders have won their last four matches and thus has momentum on their side. Moreover, the second qualifier would be played in their home conditions which will give them an edge. Kolkata will lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad tomorrow in the second qualifier.
