Thane Police has sent a summon to Bollywood Actor and Producer Arbaaz Khan for the involvement in the Indian Premier League (IPL) betting case. Salman’s Khan brother was summoned after bookie Sonu Jalan aka Sonu Batla was caught red-handed by the Mumbai Police.
The police had recently caught a betting ring and they had also arrested the 42-year old Sonu Batla. The culprit is well known to be doing his betting in the country as well as abroad.
The police have started their investigation:
In fact, after two days of Jalan’s arrest, the Thane Police discovered a diary which consisted of phone numbers of more than 100 bookies.
The Police further revealed that there are also names of Bollywood celebrities.
Meanwhile, the diary was received from Jalan’s home.
“We have got the list of bookies and are verifying it with Jalan. We found the book during a search at his home,” Police said.
Police further revealed Jalan had organised a bookie meeting in Dubai. Moreover, Police further noted that they have commenced their investigation into the process.
The police will try to find out that which IPL match was fixed and who was involved in the betting.
“Jalan had arranged a match-fixing meeting at Dubai. The celebrity was also present at that time. We are probing to know which match was fixed and who all were involved,” Police went on add.
This is not the first time the cash-rich domestic professional Twenty20 league is coming under the radar of the gamble.
We also did notice a number of betting cases registered while the tournament was in progress, this year.
