IPL 2020 Schedule To Be Released On Sunday: Chairman Brijesh Patel

Putting an end to all the speculations surrounding the release of IPL 2020 schedule, the tournament chairman Brijesh Patel said that it will be officially announced tomorrow. There has been a constant speculation regarding the IPL 2020 schedule with prior dates seeing no announcement been made.

The original schedule for IPL 2020 had Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) facing off in the inaugural contest. Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma via a tweet for MS Dhoni, which said, ‘see you at the toss on September 19’ had also indicated about the same. However it remains to be seen if all the speculations holds true once the announcement is made.

IPL chairman Brijesh Patel clarified that the announcement will be made on Sunday. “The schedule will be released tomorrow,” he told ANI.

IPL 2020 will be played entirely in UAE due to the pandemic situation forcing the cricket board to host the tournament away from India. Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah will be the three venues used for the tournament. Dream 11 have been named as the sponsor for the upcoming season of the tournament after VIVO pulled out.

All the franchise have arrived in UAE with some of the foreign players still to join the squad. Players from England and Australia will join their respective franchises once their ongoing three-match T20I series concludes.

Mumbai Indians have been the most successful team in IPL history. They have clinched the IPL title four times under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. CSK are the second most successful team with three titles to their name.
