DC vs CSK: Match Preview – IPL 2021 Qualifier 1. Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings will collide against each other in the Qualifier 1 match of IPL 2021. The encounter will take place on October 10 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The team that wins the match will get an entry to the final of IPL 2021. DC defeated CSK in both encounters during the group stage.
The first encounter between DC and CSK was the 2nd match of the tournament. In the match, CSK put up a mammoth total of 188-7 on the scoreboard. CSK openers got out cheaply but one-down Moeen Ali hit 36 while no.4 Suresh Raina scored 54 off 36. Ravindra Jadeja also hit unbeaten 26 off 17 while Sam Curran hit 15-ball-34 quickfire.

For Delhi, opener Prithvi Shaw smacked 72 runs while his partner Shikhar Dhawan smacked 85. DC won half the battle with their openers, who scored a 138-run stand. Later Rishabh Pant and Marcus Stonis scored the rest few runs needed for victory. DC won the match by 7 wickets.
In the 2nd encounter between DC and CSK too, Delhi Capitals won by 3 wickets. Batting first, CSK put up 136-5 in 20 overs. While the top order could not hit big knocks, Ambati Rayudu at no.5 scored unbeaten 55 runs.
Later, DC opener Shikhar Dhawan hit 39 runs. DC lost few quick wickets in the middle. Towards the end, Shimron Hetmyer hit unbeaten 28 runs off 18 deliveries to bag victory for the team by 3 wickets. Hence, DC Capitals have outplayed CSK in IPL 2021 so far and CSK need to pull up their socks in the Qualifier 1 match.

Delhi Capitals finished on the top spot in the points table with 20 points. Out of 14 games, they won 10 matches and lost only 4. In their final game of the group stage, DC lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore by 7 wickets.
Batting first, DC posted 164-5 on the scoreboard. Openers Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw batted brilliantly hitting 43 and 48 respectively. Later, Shimron Hetmyer hit 29 runs to take DC to 164-5. For RCB, Srikar Bharat smacked unbeaten 78 while Glenn Maxwell scored 51 not-out to win the match for the team by 7 wickets on the final ball.

Chennai Super Kings finished on the 2nd spot in the points table post group stage with 18 points. The team won 9 games and lost 5 out of 14. In their last match of the group stage, CSK lost to Punjab Kings by 6 wickets. Batting first in the match, CSK piled up 134-6 on the scoreboard.
Opener Faf du Plessis hit a spectacular knock of 76 runs off 55 balls. The rest of the batsmen did not come up with big scores which affected CSK’s total. For Punjab Kings, skipper and opener KL Rahul smacked unbeaten 98 runs off just 42 balls to clinch the victory for the team by 6 wickets.
For CSK, Faf du Plessis is the team’s top run-getter with 546 runs in 14 games. He has hit 5 half-centuries and owns an average of 45.50. In bowling, Shardul Thakur has picked the most wickets for the team with 18 scalps in 14 games.
