Delhi Capitals have one of the best bowling lineups with a lot of variety in the department and their bowling strength has been instrumental for their success in the last two IPL. Delhi Capitals released Keemo Paul, Sandeep Lamichhane, Mohit Sharma, and Tushar Deshpande from the bowling department ahead of the IPL auction 2021.

They have bought Umesh Yadav and Tom Curran into the team as experienced bowlers while Lukman Meriwala and Manimaran Sidharth have been the picks from the domestic circuit. Kagiso Rabada will lead the pace attack for the Delhi Capitals for the IPL 2021.

IPL 2021: 5 Bowlers From Delhi Capitals (DC) Who Can Be The Highest Wicket Taker:

5. Umesh Yadav

Umesh Yadav is one of the most underrated fast bowlers in Indian cricket and came into the international scene with his raw pace. Control was a major issue for him but has improved vastly over the years. He is a senior bowler in the Indian cricket team now and is an integral part of the test team.

Umesh Yadav is excellent with the new ball where Delhi struggled to pick up wickets in the last season. He can bowl three overs in the powerplay and he has been effective in the past for the RCB in 2018 where he picked up 20 wickets in 14 games. If he plays every match, he should feature in the highest wicket-takers for Delhi.

4. Chris Woakes

Chris Woakes is a renowned wicket-taker for any team he plays and it has been evident with his efforts for the nation. He can go for a few runs but is more likely to take a lot of wickets with the new ball and he can bowl the tough overs at the death. He has taken 25 wickets in his 18 game IPL career so far.

Woakes plays an important part for the England team in the limited-overs setup and given that he is picked up in the playing XI, he could be a good prospect for being the highest wicket-taker.

3. Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin has been in excellent form in the ongoing test series against England and proved that he still has a lot to offer with the bat down the order. He was traded from the Punjab franchise into the Delhi team last year and bowled beautifully to push his team into the playoffs.

He finished with 13 wickets in 15 games for the Delhi Capitals in IPL 2020 with an excellent economy rate. With Delhi pitch assisting a lot of spin, Ashwin could be handy and is one of the candidates to become the highest wicket-taker

2. Anrich Nortje

Anrich Nortje was one of the surprise packages in last year’s IPL where he formed a brilliant partnership with his countrymen Kagiso Rabada. He came in as a replacement for Chris Woakes but turned out to be an excellent pick as he finished with 22 wickets in 16 games as the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the tournament.

He bowled the quickest delivery of the tournament and his over against the likes of Jos Buttler was outstanding. He will be crucial to Delhi’s success in IPL 2021 and could be a handy competition for Rabada for being Delhi’s highest wicket-taker.

1.Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada won the purple cap for the IPL 2020 taking 30 wickets in the 17 games he played for Delhi Capitals. He has taken 61 wickets in the 35 IPL games he has played at a strike rate of 13.2 which shows the amount of dominance he has had in the IPL so far.

His four overs have been the most important part of the team as he can pick up wickets in any situation in the game. He will surely one of the favourites to win the purple cap this year after taking 55 wickets in the last two seasons combined.
