IPL 2021: Ben Dwarshuis Replaces Chris Woakes For The 2nd Leg. Ben Dwarshuis, the Australian all-rounder, has joined Delhi Capitals (DC) as Chris Woakes’ replacement for the second leg of IPL 2021.

English all-rounder Chris Woakes alongside his teammates Dawid Malan and Jonny Bairstow have pulled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 UAE leg. The exact reason behind players withdrawing their names from the marquee T20 league has not been revealed. However, speculations are that players have pulled out due to the cancellation of the 5th Test match between India and England.

Notably, Chris Woakes was able to bag 5 Wickets in 3 games for Delhi Capitals in the first half of the VIVO IPL 2021. Meanwhile, in the official statement of the Delhi Capitals, it was mentioned that the English all-rounders have pulled out of the tournament due to personal reasons.

Ben Dwarshuis is an Australian hard-hitting lower-order batsman and a fierce left-arm pacer. The 27-year-old plays for Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League ( BBL). Notably, he made his debut in the 2014 season of the BBL, and in that season he was able to scalp 13 wickets.

The 27-year-old is also one of the most successful bowlers as he has scalped 85 wickets in 69 BBL games at an average of 22.99 and economy rate of 8.05, which makes him the sixth-highest wicket-taker in the history of the tournament.

Overall, Ben Dwarshuish has picked 100 wickets in 82 T20 matches at an average of 23.73 and an economy rate of 8.19. Meanwhile, Dwarshuis will be joining the Delhi Capitals bio-bubble in the UAE very soon.
