Former England captain Michael Vaughan has predicted that all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will be the Man of the Match in the IPL 2021 final and that MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings will clinch their fourth IPL title.

Three-time champions CSK will meet two-time winners Kolkata Knight Riders, at the Dubai International Stadium on Friday for the grand finale of IPL 2021.

All the three playoffs so far have been last-over thrillers. CSK defeated Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 1, with MS Dhoni weaving his magic in the last over to complete a chase. KKR, in Sharjah, defeated RCB and DC in Eliminator and Qualifier 2, respectively; both were last-over thrillers, and entered their first IPL final since 2014.

Michael Vaughan took to Twitter today to announce his predictions of the mega-clash. He is backing the Yellow Army to claim a victory with their star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja to make the most impact.

“As all my predictions this year have been spot on .. I think @ChennaiIPL will win the Final today .. Man of the match will be @imjadeja #IPL2021Final,” Michael Vaughan tweeted.

Jadeja has been phenomenal this season. He has scored 227 runs at a strike rate of 145.51 and has snapped 11 wickets with the ball, while bowling at an economy of 6.87.

The contest will be between CSK’s batting and KKR’s bowling: Gautam Gambhir

Former KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir opined that the battle may well decide the final between Chennai’s batting and Kolkata’s bowling.

He reckons speedster Lockie Ferguson will have an important role to play on the Dubai surface. The Kiwi pacer has taken 13 wickets in 7 matches and has been KKR’s enforcer with the ball.

“Not only Ruturaj Gaikwad but Faf du Plessis is also in brilliant form. Even Robin Uthappa played a brilliant innings in the last match. The contest will no doubt be between CSK’s batting and KKR’s bowling,” Gambhir told ESPNcricinfo.

“Lockie Ferguson is a very important factor here because you are playing Dubai. If you were playing Sharjah then that might not have been the case but Lockie Ferguson will have to bowl really well in Dubai,” he added.

Gambhir led KKR to both of their titles so far – in 2012 and 2014. KKR defeated CSK in 2012 final, that too in Chennai.
