Star Australian opener David Warner who represents Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) has revealed that he will no longer be part of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) playing XI for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 United Arab Emirates (UAE) leg.
David Warner, who is regarded as one of the most successful batsmen in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was dropped in the 40th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) against Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Monday, September 27.
Meanwhile, the official Instagram account of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) posted a picture after the completion of 10 overs during the first innings of the match against Rajasthan Royals. In the same post, a fan questioned where was Warner in the RR vs SRH game.
The fan wrote: “Is Warner in the stadium, We didn’t spot him.”
To which the opening batsman replied “Unfortunately won’t be against but keep supporting, please”
David Warner’s comment confirms more or less that he is no longer in the scheme of things of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and he will not be provided the opening slot for the remainder of the season.
India Premier League (IPL) 2021 forgettable season for David Warner
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 has been an awful season for the Australian opener. In the first half of the IPL 2021, Warner was removed from the captaincy after the poor performance of the team and was even dropped from the playing XI. Overall he had a forgettable run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 as he scored only 195 runs at a strike rate of 107 in eight games.
Talking about his achievements with the Orange Army, David Warner is the highest run-getter for the Hyderabad franchise in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as he has managed to score over 4000 for the Orange army at an average of 49.55 and strike rate of 142.59.
Also during this period, he was able to smash 42 half-centuries. Meanwhile, Under David Warner Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) won their first Indian Premier League (IPL) title in 2016 by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final. However, after his run in the Indian Premier League 2021, it will be no surprise if he gets released by the SRH ahead of the IPL 2022 auction. Also with the introduction of two new teams, the 34-year-old can easily be part of a new franchise in the cash-rich league.
