Despite ending up on the losing side, CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad was adjudged player of the match for his scintillating century in the 47th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 between Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals (RR) and MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Notably, Rajasthan Royals (RR) completed the chase of 190 runs in 17.3 overs and were able to clinch the victory by 7 wickets. All 5 batters of team Rajasthan Royals looked amazing in the game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Meanwhile, The player of the match award winner Ruturaj Gaikwad played an exceptional knock scoring an unbeaten 101 runs from 60 balls, he batted with a strike rate of 168.33 and his innings was filled with 9 fours and 5 sixers.

During the post-match presentation, Ruturaj Gaikwad said that the wicket was slow at the start but kept getting better as the game progressed. Gaikwad said:

 “It was a slow wicket at the start, as the game progressed it got better. It was important for one of the batters to stay till the 14th over. 

I Am Working On Timing The Ball Really Well – Ruturaj Gaikwad

The 24-year-old said that he has been working on his timing and trying to maintain his shape. Gaikwad stated:

I am working on timing the ball really well and trying to maintain my shape. It has worked for me. Right from when I started playing cricket, I have relied on timing. Today also I relied on timing and thankfully it is coming off.”

Further Ruturaj Gaikwad talked about things he learned in 2019 when he was part of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and he didn’t get a chance to play for the team.

My selection in the CSK team in 2019 where I didn’t get a chance to play, being in the dressing room I got to learn a lot. I got to know some routines, was a very good learning curve for me.

Although, Gaikwad now holds orange cap, he was unhappy that CSK were unable win today. He stated:

” It was a dream, started really slow, didn’t dream about getting a hundred. I like it (Orange Cap) but I would have loved to be on the winning side.”

Meanwhile, With the big win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK), team Rajasthan Royals (RR) have 10 points in 12 games at a slightly improved net run rate of -0.337 and are ranked 6th in the points table.
