Chennai Super Kings’ big-money signing Moeen Ali has requested the franchise that he will not wear the logo of an alcohol brand on his jersey; the franchise has accepted the all-rounder’s demand.

Moeen Ali, who was bought by the 3-time champions at the February auction for a whopping Rs. 7 crore, is a practising Muslim and doesn’t consume or endorse alcohol. For whichever team he represents, whether England or any franchise team, Ali doesn’t don the logos of any alcohol brands.

The Chennai Super Kings have SNJ 10000 as one of its sponsors this season. The alcohol company is a surrogate product brand of Chennai-based SNJ Distilleries.

Earlier, former South African legend, Hashim Amla, had refused to spot the Castle Lager, a premier alcohol company, on the Protea jersey, for which some part of his match fees was docked, so did his teammate Imran Tahir. Pakistani players, Babar Azam and Faheem Ashraf have also not denied wearing jersey promoting alcohol brands during their stints in England.
