IPL 2021: Ravindra Jadeja Dedicates His Man Of The Match Award To His Daughter On Daughter's Day

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has dedicated his Man of the Match award against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to his daughter Nidhyana as today, September 26, 2021, is also celebrated as International Daughters Day around the world.

MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings went to the top of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) points table after defeating Eoin Morgan’s Kolkata Knight Riders by 2 wickets in an exciting encounter in Abu Dhabi. Jadeja was given the Player of the Match award for his cameo of 22 runs and one wicket in the match.

Actually, his innings of 22 basically came in one over itself. CSK needed 26 runs to win the match in the last 2 overs chasing 172 runs and Ravindra Jadeja slammed 2 sixes and 2 fours in the penultimate over bowled by Prasidh Krishna leaving just 4 runs to win in the last over. Jadeja had earlier picked the wicket of KKR’s top-scorer Rahul Tripathi while giving away just 21 runs in his 4 overs.

“This one for you #nidhyana #happydaughtersday,” Ravindra Jadeja captioned the post.

Moeen Ali made 32 and then Ravindra Jadeja took them closer to the finishing line with his cameo.

In the end, despite Sunil Narine dismissing him and Sam Curran in the final over, Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur ensured the team won on the final ball of the match.

Earlier, the Kolkata Knight Riders batted first after their captain Eoin Morgan won the toss. Though Shubman Gill fell for 8 and the dangerous Venkatesh Iyer made only 18 runs, Rahul Tripathi (45), Nitish Rana (37*), Andre Russell (20), and Dinesh Karthik (26 in 11 balls) took the KKR team to a formidable total of 171/6.
