The Delhi Capitals are on a roll and have been a dominating force in IPL 2021 with 6 wins in 8 games.
However, spearhead pacer Kagiso Rabada feels that there are “no easy games” in the tournament – even against a struggling and depleted bottom half team such as Punjab Kings, who they handed a 7-wicket loss on Sunday in Ahmedabad.
After the victory, Kagiso Rabada said that the “atmosphere is great” is great in the Capitals’ dressing room, who is a team with several youngsters in it, and are also missing their regular skipper Shreyas Iyer – Rishabh Pant, the 23-year-old is the youngest captain in this year’s tournament.
“The atmosphere is great [at] the moment, it is a young team and we have come off some good performances. There are no easy games in the IPL, even against you guys, it was not an easy game,” Kagiso Rabada told Punjab Kings’ stand-in skipper Mayank Agarwal in a video posted on the IPL website.
It was great to get that wicket of Gayle: Kagiso Rabada
Kagiso Rabada came into the Punjab game with some lack of form having picked up 5 wickets in 6 matches. The South African seems to have found his grove as he got three scalps – 2 in the powerplay, and one at the death.
The speedster enjoyed his second wicket of Chris Gayle. Rabada rattled the left-hander’s stumps the delivery after he was been smacked for a six. The 25-year-old also lauded Agarwal his brilliant knock of 99* which helped Punjab post a respectable total, but it was scaled down comfortably by the DC batters.
“It was great to get that wicket of Gayle, two wickets in the powerplay makes it tough for the batting team. You (Agarwal) batted really well, dropped at deep-point, and it turned out to be your day. You whacked me for two sixes,” Kagiso Rabada added further.
Rishabh Pant’s side has moved to the top of the table with 12 points in 8 games. They will next face the Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday.
