The Mumbai Indians all-rounder Krunal Pandya showed brilliant sportsmanship by withdrawing his appeal of running out the Punjab Kings (PBKS) skipper KL Rahul.

The 42nd match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 between Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians (MI) and KL Rahul-led Punjab Kings (PBKS) finally began at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, September 28.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians won the toss and they decided to field first. Notably, the Rohit Sharma-led side was entering the game with a couple of changes as Ishan Kishan was dropped and Saurabh Tiwary was added to the team and Nathan Coulter-Nile replaced Adam Milne.

Meanwhile, on the Punjab Kings (PBKS) side Mayank Agarwal missed out on playing XI due to stiff back and Mandeep Singh was included in the team.

Meanwhile, In the last ball of the 6th over of the first innings Krunal Pandya bowled an amazing yorker and Chris Gayle smashed the ball and it ricochet off KL Rahul and the elder Pandya was quick enough to whip the bails off.

However, Krunal Pandya was seen withdrawing his appeal and he stopped the umpire from reviewing the runout.

Meanwhile, after surviving the run-out KL Rahul was seen giving thumbs up to the skipper of Mumbai Indians (MI) Rohit Sharma.

Notably, fielding first turned out to be a brilliant decision for defending champions as they managed to reduce Punjab Kings at the score of 50/4 in 8 overs. Kieron Pollard dismissed Chris Gayle and captain KL Rahul. Krunal Pandya was able to bag the wicket of Mandeep Singh. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah dismissed explosive batter Nicholas Pooran.
