Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Riyan Parag might not have crafted many impactful knocks in IPL 2021 so far; however, he has captured the fans’ attentions through his catching. Riyan Parag has often made difficult catches look ridiculously easy in the ongoing edition of the lucrative league. The Assam all-rounder, who unleashed the Bihu dance celebration, gained more fan following his other style after taking a catch off Pat Cummins’ bat.
Pat Cummins’ dismissal occurred in the 20th over when he threatened to finish the Knight Riders’ innings with a flourish. Cummins, who blasted a quick-fire knock against Chennai Super Kings, struck a short ball to deep mid-wicket. Riyan Parag, stationed in that region, took the catch effortlessly and celebrated with Rahul Tewatia by handing him a shadow phone and clicking a selfie. It was also Parag’s second catch of the innings.
Rajasthan Royals delivered a polished bowling performance, restricting the two-time champions to 133-8 in 20 overs after electing to bowl first. It was an outstanding effort from a team, which copped a ten-wicket win against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in their previous fixture. Kolkata hardly found momentum in the innings, with Rahul Tripathi top-scoring with 36. Chris Morris was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with figures of 4-0-23-4, dismissing Dinesh Karthik, Andre Russell, Pat Cummins, and Shivam Mavi. He also affected the run-out of Eoin Morgan.
Meanwhile, here’s how Twitter reacted to the celebration of Riyan Parag and Rahul Tewatia:
