Openers KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal managed an opening stand of 120 runs while smashing 49 and 67 respectively. However, faults in the final over put PBKS on the losing end.

Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their previous match to Delhi Capitals. SRH batted first in the match. With no batsmen taking charge while batting, they could reach only 134-9 in 20 overs. Later, Shikhar Dhawan gave an amazing start to DC with his 42 runs. Later, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant made an unbeaten partnership of 67 runs to bag the victory by 8 wickets.
