Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson has copped criticism for his decisions so far in IPL 2021; however, he seems to have retained positivity. Sanju Samson, who in his first match as the captain, put the coin in his pocket after the toss, had another hilarious moment ahead of the encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders. The right-handed batsman forgot the changes made in his side when asked by Pommie Mbangwa.
Sanju Samson was able to narrate to Pommie Mbangwa the first change he made, which was getting Jaydev Unadkat for Shreyas Gopal. Nevertheless, the Kerala-born cricketer could not recollect the second one. He chuckled and revealed after taking a moment that Yashasvi Jaiswal came in for Manan Vohra. Samson ended up winning the toss and chose to bowl first in a crucial game for both sides.
The swapping of Yashasvi Jaiswal at the top was on the cards as Manan Vohra failed to impress after being given multiple opportunities. On the other hand, leggie Gopal’s performances have also been marred with inconsistencies since IPL 2020. Rajasthan Royals suffered a humiliating loss to the Royal Challengers Bangalore in their previous game at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal consigned them to a 10-wicket defeat while chasing 178, with the latter scoring his maiden IPL hundred. Samson, who mustered a hundred in his first match, has found himself most under focus, having failed to fire after that. The likes of Jos Buttler, David Miller, Riyan Parag, and Shivam Dube have also got to pull up their socks as the Royals have won only one out of four games so far.
