IPL 2021: Watch - Shakib Al Hasan Hits Bull's-Eye To Run Out Kane Williamson

Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH) skipper Kane Williamson was run out brilliantly by Shakib Al Hasan, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder, on Sunday in Dubai.

On the 5th ball of SRH’s innings’ 7th over, Williamson tapped a full delivery from Shakib Al Hasan towards the short mid-wicket region and set off for a quick single. The Bangladeshi all-rounder sprinted across a couple of pitches, made a smooth pick-up of the ball, turned around and hurled his throw right at the base of the stumps.

The on-field umpire referred it upstairs when replayed showed that the SRH skipper, despite dragging his bat to full length, was inches short of his ground and had to walk back to the dressing room courtesy of some sharp work from Shakib Al Hasan.

KKR on top with bag ful of wickets

Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to bowl first. Tim Southee backed their skipper’s decision in the first over with the wicket of Wriddhiman Saha, trapping the opener lbw for a golden duck. Jason Roy would hit the Kiwi pacer for a couple of fours but got out to Shivam Mavi.

Kane Williamson stroked the young Indian pacer for four boundaries in the 6th over to cap off the powerplay at 35/2. Williamson would, however, get run out by Shakib Al Hasan in the 7th over after scoring 26 runs off 21 balls.

KKR would then assume a stronghold on SRH. The boundaries dried up for a few overs before Shakib struck with the wicket of Abhishek Sharma. Priyam Garg would smoke a six off Shakib, but soon got out to Varun Chakravarthy in the deep. The mystery spinner also accounted for Jason Holder’s wicket.
