Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain David Warner paid a lovely tribute to his family by sporting the names of his wife and daughters on his shoes during the ongoing IPL 2021 match against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) being played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Sunrisers Hyderabad came into this match with just one win in five matches and lying on the 8th spot on the points table. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings were ranked no.2 on the points table and have been playing tug and war with the no.1 spot with Royal Challengers Bangalore.
David Warner, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain, won the toss and decided to bat first on a typical Delhi pitch, which was expected to get slower as the game progresses. Manish Pandey and Sandeep Sharma came into the SRH playing XI, while Chennai Super Kings included Moeen Ali and Lungi Ngidi into the XI.
Sam Curran removed Jonny Bairstow for 7 runs after he was dropped by MS Dhoni on Deepak Chahar’s bowling. Then David Warner painfully added 106 runs in 14 overs with Manish Pandey, as both the batsmen struggled to press the accelerator as CSK bowlers kept the pressure on thanks to some amazing fielding from their men.

Though Warner struggled throughout his 57-runs innings (3 fours and 2 sixes), he became only the fourth man to complete 10,000 runs in T20 matches. Manish Pandey contributed 61 in 46 balls (5 fours and 1 six) to the partnership which ended on 128 and Pandey perished with the team total on 134/3.
Meanwhile, David Warner was seen sporting the names of his wife Candice and daughters Ivy Mae, Indi Rae and Isla Rose. Both his shoes had the names of his wife and daughters, a little something to show his love for them as they are in Australia as Warner plays the IPL in India amidst tight bio-bubble protocols.
SRH got a good finish in the end, as Kane Williamson slammed 26* in 10 balls with 4 fours and 1 six, and Kedar Jadhav made 12* in 4 balls as SRH ended with 171/3 in 20 overs.
For Chennai Super Kings, Sam Curran took 1/30 and Lungi Ngidi picked 2/35 in their four overs, while Shardul Thakur gave 44 runs in 4 overs.
