Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra feels that Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are facing several issues and problems ahead of their match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

SRH currently sit ninth on the league table, having won only 2 out of 5 of their matches. A loss in their upcoming match against CSK might leave them too behind in the hunt for playoff spots.

While previewing the match on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra discussed SRH’s troubled season so far, saying that their team and form are not compatible with their upcoming match.

“Hyderabad have plenty of reasons for a headache. The batting doesn’t play that well in spin-friendly conditions. They lost their last match at home, a run chase that should have happened but did not happen against Mumbai.”

Aakash Chopra did praise the Sunrisers’ bowling but said that team captain Aiden Markram needs to use his bowlers better.

None of SRH’s batters have had a good season so far, says Aakash Chopra

In the same video, Aakash Chopra highlighted that Sunrisers Hyderabad batters are having average to poor seasons so far.

Harry Brook did hit a century against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) while opening batter Mayank Agarwal is having a poor season.

“Harry Brook has struck a century but hasn’t done anything in the rest of the games. Mayank Agarwal played a 40-plus knock in the last match but he doesn’t have anything other than that,” Chopra said.

He also suggested that Rahul Tripathi’s form is another reason for SRH’s season so far. He also discussed Markram and Heinrich Klaasen, saying –

“Rahul Tripathi has played only two good knocks. He scored 30-35 against Lucknow and after that runs against Punjab in the next match but nothing else other than that. His last two innings have been very ordinary. Markram is batting well but more will be expected from Heinrich Klaasen.”

With all that said, it should come as no surprise that Aakash Chopra has chosen CSK to win against SRH on April 21.
