DC vs SRH: ” I Just Don’t Understand The Shot Actually”- Kevin Pietersen Slams Harry Brook

Kevin Pietersen, a former England cricketer, has criticized Sunrisers Hyderabad batter Harry Brook for his dismissal following a 14-ball seven against Delhi Capitals today (April 24).

Delhi Capital beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven runs in IPL, courtesy of a brilliant bowling performance.

The 2023 tournament didn’t get off to the best start for Brook, who SRH acquired for INR 13.25 crore. He made 13, 3, and 13 before launching an incredible undefeated 100 from 55 deliveries against Kolkata Knight Riders. He has struggled to score since then, scoring only nine and eighteen runs in his subsequent two games prior to the match on Monday.

With the side needing 145 runs, the England player who entered the game to start the innings against DC scored two runs off of his first six balls. In contrast to his ruthless century against KKR, he had trouble with his footwork against Ishant Sharma and lacked the same confidence level.

Harry Brook escaped a DRS review after Anrich Nortje but was out in the sixth over when he attempted to scoop a length ball from Nortje, only to have his middle stump clattered into.

“Harry Brook was giving himself a lot of room”-Kevin Pietersen

One of Harry Brook’s harshest critics was England great Kevin Pietersen after Sunrisers Hyderabad’s opener failed to deliver in their Indian Premier League encounter against the Delhi Capitals on Monday evening.

“I just don’t understand the shot actually,” Pietersen said in a commentary.

“The fine leg is back. You’ve got a deep point, you’ve got a fine leg. Harry Brook was giving himself a lot of room on the leg stump to hit through the off-side. I dunno, maybe I’m old fashioned – fine leg back, not a good shot” Kevin Pietersen added.
