The ongoing 51st game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is currently taking place between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad. The visitors won the toss and opted to field first.

But their decision backfired as Gujarat Titans openers Wridhhman Saha and Shubman Gill looked a class apart and smashed LSG bowlers in every corner of the ground. The veteran keeper batter took the aggressive role and made the opposition look clueless.

Wriddhiman Saha came out all guns blazing and kept going at the bowlers without even looking at the milestone. With the way he was batting, something special was needed from the opposition to get rid of him. And LSG lived exactly up to that by putting a staggering effort in the field.

It was during the 13th over the first innings when Avesh Khan bowled a back-of-a-length delivery to which Wriddhiman Saha tried to heave. The ball went towards the deep square leg area, where Substitute fielder Prerak Mankad took a great catch. He kept his eyes on the ball and maintained his balance well to complete a catch close to the ropes.

Wriddhiman Saha played a magnificent knock of 81 runs in 43 balls. He batted with a strike rate of 188.37 and smashed 10 fours and 4 sixes in his innings to give his team a staggering start.

GT vs LSG: Wridhhman Saha and Shubman Gill smash the highest opening partnership for GT

Shubman Gill and Wridhhman Saha took advantage of the good batting conditions and made LSG bowlers dance to their tunes. The duo went from the word go and hit a flurry of boundaries in their opening partnership. Shubman Gill and Wridhhman Saha scored 142 runs for the opening partnership and made sure that remain on the top of the game for most of the time.
