Gujarat Titans (GT) batter Shubman Gill broke the massive record of Sachin Tendulkar in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He surpassed the batting great in scoring the fastest 1000 runs for the franchise in the league.

Shubman Gill achieved the feat during the ongoing 62nd game IPL 2023 game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad. The GT batter completed 1000 runs for the franchise in just 29 innings, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s record of achieving the same in 31 innings for Mumbai Indians.

Shubman Gill smashed his 5th half-century of the season and was batting at 89* at the time of writing this piece. He had smashed 12 fours and 1 six so far and was batting at the strike rate of around 200. Notably, he’s amongst the top leading run-getters this season.
