Meanwhile, the BCCI has introduced a new rule in the IPL that of an Impact Player’ The rule will be brought into use from the 2023 season. The rule allows teams to bring in a substitute player in place of any member of the starting XI. Teams taking part in a match will be required to submit the names of four substitutes at the time of toss and teams can only make a change in their playing XI by bringing in a substitute from the list of four players.

Also, the Impact Player can only replace any member of the starting XI before the end of the 14th over of either innings and the player who has been replaced will no longer be allowed to participate in the match. The Impact Player rule is not applicable when the game is reduced to less than 10 overs per side.

Sarfaraz Khan

So far in the IPL Khan has played 46 games and scored just over 500 runs at a strike rate of 137.82.

Shaw has been a consistent performer for Delhi Capitals. He plays at his best when he is allowed to dictate terms with the opposition. Shaw made a good start to his international career but now has run out of favor. He can use the next IPL season for a comeback. So far in the IPL, Shaw has scored over 1500 runs in 63 matches for Delhi.

Chetan Sakariya

Sakariya is one of the young and upcoming Indian pacers. He has shown good promise and potential in the few games that he has played in the IPL. Delhi did not give him many games last season but can use him as an impact player in the upcoming season. The left-arm pacer has plenty of tricks in his sleeve.
