IPL 2023 Auction: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Players, Squad, Retained Players List, Released Players List, Purse Value, Schedule, Players List.  IPL 2023 mini-auction will take place in December this year and before that, every IPL franchise has to submit the names of the players whom they are releasing and retaining and their purses will be adjusted accordingly.

While some of the retentions will be straightforward for all franchises, there will definitely be some surprise retentions by the franchises too.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) IPL 2022 tournament was a replay of their performance in the IPL 2021. Though they managed to win 6 matches out of 14 and amassed 12 points, they still managed to finish in the 8th spot out of 10 teams.

One of the biggest reasons for a dismal season was New Zealand Kane Williamson, who just couldn’t get going throughout the tournament with a strike rate of under 100.

Kane Williamson, who struggled with an elbow issue, scored 216 runs in 13 innings at a disappointing average of 19 and an ever poorer strike rate of 93. Their biggest buy-in IPL 2022 auction was West Indies’ Nicholas Pooran for INR 10.75 crores, and then his teammate Romario Shepherd for INR 7.75 Crores.

The likes of Shashank Singh, Romario Shepherd, Nicholas Pooran, Shreyas Gopal, and Sean Abbott were released by SRH before IPL 2023. The franchise has let go of its previous captain Kane Williamson who was its top retention at INR 14 crore ahead of the mega-auction last year.

The Orange Army has released 12 players which also includes the overseas trio of Romario Shepherd, Nicholas Pooran, and Sean Abbott. Uncapped Indians Jagadeesha Suchith, Priyam Garg, Ravikumar Samarth, Saurabh Dubey, Shashank Singh, Shreyas Gopal, Sushant Mishra, and Vishnu Vinod are the other releases.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have always stacked up a good bowling side followed by overseas batters, however, their mantra did not work out last year. Rahul Tripathi and Abhishek Sharma were among the few positives in the batting department while Umran Malik’s raw pace stole the limelight among the bowlers.
