IPL 2023: Best Delhi Capitals (DC) Playing XI For The Tournament.  Rilee Rossouw (INR 4.6 crore), Manish Pandey (INR 2.4 crore), and Mukesh Kumar (INR 5.5 crore) were among the costliest buys for Delhi Capitals in the IPL Auction 2023.

The Rishabh Pant-led side went for the likes of uncapped India bowler Mukesh Kumar (Rs 5.50 crore), Phil Salt (Rs 2 crore), and Ishant Sharma (Rs 50 lakh) in the auction. Delhi Capitals is another franchise that showed a lot of common sense in their picks. Mukesh Kumar was a net bowler with the franchise last season and is now playing regularly for India A.

David Warner commenced his IPL journey at the Delhi franchise in 2009 and after 13 years, with a bag full of experience, loads of runs under his belt, and won the IPL title with Sunrisers Hyderabad, he returned to represent the Delhi Capitals team in IPL 2022.

David Warner, who is the fifth-highest run-getter in the history of the IPL with 5881 runs to his name in 162 matches averaging 42.01, is one of the most destructive openers across formats. David Warner had a successful IPL 2022, where he amassed 432 runs in 12 games averaging 48 at a strike rate of 150.52 with as many as 5 fifties. He will open in IPL 2023.

Prithvi Shaw, the other Delhi Capitals opener in IPL 2023, had a moderate IPL 2022 for Delhi capitals where he amassed 283 runs in 10 games averaging 28.3 at a strike rate of 152.97. Prithvi Shaw was retained by Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2020, IPL 2021, and IPL 2022, and the Delhi franchise stuck with him and retained him ahead of the IPL 2023 auction.

Rilee Rossouw, the destructive Proteas batter was bought by Delhi Capitals for INR 4.60 Crore in IPL 2023 auction. He had kept a base price of INR 2 crores for himself in IPL 2023 auction. Rilee Rossouw had played 5 games in IPL 2014-2015 and scored 53 runs averaging 10.6 for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The left-handed South African batter Rilee Rossouw hammered his maiden T20I hundred in the third T20I of the series between India and South Africa. He top-scored with 109 off 56 balls in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 against Bangladesh-the first ton of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 season. He had scored tons in successive innings.

It has been a remarkable return to international cricket for Rilee Rossouw. After six years away, during which he took up a Kolpak deal in county cricket that did not go down well with CSA, he compiled back-to-back T20I centuries, alongside an unbeaten 96, in just seven innings.

Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant was named the Delhi Capitals skipper ahead of the IPL 2021 and was retained ahead of the IPL 2022.

He scored 419 runs in IPL 2021 and 340 runs in IPL 2022 averaging 34.91 and 30.91 respectively. Rishabh Pant will lead the franchise again and will keep wickets in IPL 2023.

Rovman Powell

Rovman Powell, the destructive West Indies batter, was brought on board by Delhi Capitals for INR 2.80 Cr in IPL 2022 and he managed 250 runs in 14 IPL 2022 matches averaging 25 at a strike rate of 149.67 and he will look to amend his stats in IPL 2023. The likes of Mitchell Marsh are another contender for the slot.

Sarfaraz Khan

Sarfaraz Khan, the in-form batter in the Ranji Trophy arena, had scored only 91 runs in 6 IPL 2022 games averaging 30.33 with a best of 36* at a strike rate of 135.82. Sarfaraz Khan was bought by DC at INR 20 lakhs in IPL 2022 auctions. He is expected to bat in the middle order in IPL 2023. Manish Pandey is another contender for the slot.

Axar Patel

Axar Patel was snapped up by Delhi Capitals for a whopping INR 5 crore at the IPL auctions ahead of the 2019 season, making him the second most expensive player for the franchise. He was later retained by the Delhi franchise for the IPL 2020, IPL 2021, and IPL 2022.

He had a successful IPL 2022 with the bat scoring 182 runs in 13 games averaging 45.5 and picked 6 scalps averaging 53.5. He had picked 15 scalps in 12 IPL 2021 games averaging 20.4.

Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav, the chinaman left-arm wrist spinner, was brought on board by the Delhi Capitals for INR 2 Crore at IPL 2022. He had a successful IPL 2022, picking 21 scalps in 14 games averaging 19.95 which included his best bowling figures of 4/14 against his former franchise Kolkata Knight Riders.

Compared to the IPL 2018 season – where he played 16 matches for KKR, Kuldeep Yadav featured in just 9 games for the franchise in 2019 followed by 5 matches in IPL 2020. He stayed on the bench in the IPL 2021. Kuldeep Yadav will be important to Delhi’s success in IPL 2023.

Anrich Nortje

Anrich Nortje or Lungi Ngidi will be one of the overseas pacers in the Delhi Capitals XI in IPL 2023. Anrich Nortje had come on board for Delhi Capitals as an injury replacement for Chris Woakes ahead of the IPL 2020 and since then has emerged as one of the most important players for the team.

He had picked 22 wickets in 16 games in IPL 2020, 12 wickets from 8 games in IPL 2021, and 9 scalps in 6 games in IPL 2022. He will be important to Delhi’s success in IPL 2023.

Kamlesh Nagarkoti was bought on board for INR 1.10 Cr by Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022, but he played only 1 game where he was wicketless. He may be given more opportunities in IPL 2023.

Khaleel Ahmed, the left-arm medium pacer, returned to the DC after being bought for INR 5.25 Crores in IPL 2022 and did well picking 16 scalps in 10 games averaging 19.69.

Chetan Sakariya

Chetan Sakariya made his IPL debut with Rajasthan Royals in 2021 and picked 14 scalps from as many games averaging 30.42. He played 3 games in IPL 2022 for Delhi and picked 3 scalps averaging 28. He may be given more opportunities in IPL 2023.
