In the last year’s mega-auction, the franchise roped in Faf du Plessis, who was a Chennai Super Kings (CSK) stalwart in the league from 2012 to 2021. Relying on his sensational batting figures for CSK, RCB invested INR seven crores in him to receive his services as a skipper and batter.

With the bat, he scored 468 runs in 16 games at a strike rate of 127.52. Faf du Plessis will open and look to lead from the front in IPL 2023.
