IPL 2023: “I Am Satisfied With How The Ball Is Coming Out Of The Bat”- Andre Russell Gives A Warning To Teams

IPL 2023 is expected to be a riveting league as after 3 years, IPL is returning back to its home & away venue system. KKR have been dealt a massive blow as according to multiple reports it is believed that Shreyas Iyer would be ruled out for half of the tournament. It is assumed that Andre Russell would lead the side, who is quite experienced in the league circuit. Andre Russell had scored 335 runs in IPL 2022 & had taken 17 scalps.

KKR are going to clash against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on 1st April at Mohali. KKR would be banking on the star batter Nitish Rana to lead the batting lineup in the absence of Shreyas Iyer. KKR have got a lot of fire-power present in the form of David Wiese, Rinku Singh, Russell and Shakib al Hasan where they would be backing themselves to chase a big total.

Andre Russell on IPL 2023

Andre Russell was having an interaction with reporters ahead of the IPL 2023 and was quite optimistic about having a terrific season for KKR.

“I’ll try to make all of you happy. I’m satisfied with how the ball is coming out of the bat. Hopefully, I can replicate the same during this IPL. Won’t you watch me bat? I’m a legend. I want all of you to cheer for me.” said Andre Russell.

Eden Gardens, Kolkata is a high-scoring ground &  at the same time, the spinners thrive on the pitches. KKR will most likely will play with 3 spinners in the form of Shakib, Narine & Chakravarthy. The peculiarity of KKR is that they bat deep but the management should not chop & change frequently.

It would be interesting to see what tactics KKR’s new head coach Chandrakant Patil applies. The coaching staff needs to manage the workload of Andre Russell cautiously as they can’t afford another injury setback. It won’t be a bad idea to promote Rinku Singh to the top of the order where he has the knack of playing a breezy knock for the team.
