Former Netherlands international Ryan ten Doeschate, who was born in South Africa, is expected to join the Kolkata Knight Riders team’s support staff in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Ryan ten Doeschate was a member of the 2012 and 2014 championship teams for KKR.
James Foster, who was promoted to assistant coach, will be replaced by him as the team’s new fielding coach. Naturally, both will answer to head coach Chandrakant Pandit.
Ten Doeschate (42), a former KKR player who was a member of the winning teams in 2012 and 2014, might also play a part in the team’s UAE League subsidiary (ILT20). He will serve as the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders team’s assistant coach.
As per KKR team sources who verified the news to Cribuzz, TenDo, as the former captain of the Netherlands is called, has “always been a Knight Rider.” In addition to concluding his time with the Essex team in English County Cricket, Ten Doeschate announced his retirement from international cricket last year.
Phil Simmons is most likely to join as the head coach of Dubai Capitals in ILT20. The team is in talks with the departing West Indies coach, who announced his resignation following the team’s disappointing performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup in Australia. The franchise is controlled by Kiran Kumar Granthi, a co-owner of Delhi Capitals.
When the two-Test series against the hosts begins on November 30, Simmons will serve as the West Indies team’s captain. Simmons is currently in Australia.
Ryan ten Doeschate played his final international against Namibia:
Former Dutch-South African cricketer Ryan ten Doeschate competed for the Netherlands in Twenty20 International (T20I) and One Day International (ODI) matches. In 2008, 2010, and 2011, Ten Doeschate won the ICC Associate Player of the Year award three times in a row, setting a record.
Ten Doeschate declared in September 2021 that he would be from professional cricket at the end of the year. On October 20, 2021, he faced Namibia in a group game for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. It was his final match. He was hired as the batting coach for Kent County Cricket Club in December 2021.
