IPL Auction 2023: Complete List Of Afghanistan Players Participating In IPL 2023 Auction. Afghanistan has risen up the ranks quickly and IPL contracts to Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Mujeeb Ur Rahim, and Fazalhaq Farooqi are a good estimation of the same.
The Asian side has now achieved direct qualification for the T20 World Cup in 2024 and the 50-over World Cup next year. 8 Afghan players have registered themselves for the IPL 2023 auction and a few of them are expected to raise a bidding war.
The IPL 2023 auction will be held in Kochi on December 23. Notably, each team can have a maximum of 25 players, including a maximum of 8 overseas stars, and a minimum of 18 players in their full squad after the auction.
A total of 991 players, including 714 Indians and 277 overseas, registered for the IPL 2023 mini-auction. Now, the board BCCI has shortlisted the players and announced the IPL 2023 Player Auction list.
In total 405 cricketers are all set to go under the IPL 2023 auction hammer on December 23 in Kochi. 10 teams initially shortlisted 369 players, but later 36 additional players were requested and they were added to the final list.
Out of these, 19 players have kept themselves in the Rs. 2 crore bracket. There are 11 players who in the Rs. 1.5 crores bracket. There are 20 players in the bracket of Rs. 1 crore.
Among the 405 cricketers, 273 are Indians and 132 are overseas players of which 4 players are from associate nations. Also, a total of 119 capped players, 282 uncapped players, and 4 associate nation players will be entering the IPL 2023 mini-auction. A maximum of 87 players can be acquired in the auction of which 30 can be overseas.
Speaking of the Afghanistan players, Rashid Khan and Fazalhaq Farooqi were retained by their respective franchises. Rashid especially played a big role in Gujarat Titans winning their first title in their debut season. He took 19 wickets in the season and finished a couple of games for his side. Mohammad Nabi who was a part of KKR in IPL 2022 was released by the franchise.
Sunrisers Hyderabad has the maximum salary cap available of Rs. 42.25 crores available. Kolkata Knight Riders have the least salary cap available for Rs. 7.05 crores. Below is the list of Afghanistan players in the upcoming auction.
