The 23-year-old England National Cricket Team batter Harry Brook has said that he is excited to participate for the very first time in the Indian Premier League (IPL) next year.
The one-time IPL champions Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) spent a whopping INR 13.25 crore to acquire Harry Brook at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 mini-auction on Friday, December 23, in Kochi.

England’s Harry Brook entered the IPL auction with a base price of INR 1.5 crore. Rajasthan Royals (RR), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) were involved in a bidding war to acquire the services of the Englishman and in the end, SRH outbid everyone to bag him for INR 13.25 crore.
In a video shared on the official Twitter handle of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Brook said that he is grateful for getting the opportunity to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 23-year-old added that he has heard that the atmosphere at SRH is unbelievable.

“Hi Orange Army. I am really excited and grateful for this opportunity to come to the IPL this year. I am really looking forward to play for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. I have heard the atmosphere is unbelievable. One of the best grounds in the comp (competition). So, am really excited for us to be back to Uppal,” Brook said in a video posted by Sunrisers Hyderabad on their Twitter handle.

I Have Lost Words – Harry Brook

After being sold for a whopping INR 13.25 crore, Brook revealed that he was having dinner with his mother and grandmother when he was sold to SRH.
“I have lost words, was having dinner with my mother and grandmother, they were crying when SRH picked me up. Thank you so much SRH,” Brook stated.
The youngster recently won the Player of the Series award in the three-match Test series against Babar Azam & Co. in Pakistan. He emerged as the leading run-scorer in the Test series, scoring 468 runs at an average of 93.60, including three centuries and one half-century.
Also, Harry Brook became the first millionaire of the IPL 2023 auction and overall the most expensive specialist batter ever sold at a mini-auction, surpassing Shimron Hetmyer who was sold for INR 7.75.
