IPL Auction 2023: “I Grew Up Trying To Copy Yuvraj Singh In The Field” – SRH's Vivrant Sharma

The 23-year-old Jammu & Kashmir all-rounder Vivrant Sharma, who was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the IPL 2023 mini-auction, has revealed that the legendary India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is his favourite player.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) released 12 players ahead of the mini-auction. They had 12 players in the squad, including 4 overseas. They entered the mini-auction with the biggest purse of INR 42.25 crore and had a maximum of whopping 13 slots to fill, 4 of which were for overseas players.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were engaged in a bidding war to acquire the services of Vivrant Sharma at the IPL 2023 mini-auction and in the end, SRH bought him for INR 2.6 crore.
Speaking to India Today, Vivrant Sharma revealed that Yuvraj Singh is his idol and he has learned a lot from the legendary all-rounder.

“From the start, I used to watch Yuvraj Singh and I grew up trying to copy him in the field. He clicked with me since he was an all-rounder and because his body language was very impressive. I have learned so much from just watching him,” Sharma said in an exclusive chat with IndiaToday.in.
I have interacted with Brian Lara a couple of times – Vivrant Sharma
The Jammu & Kashmir all-rounder further revealed that he had a few interactions with the SRH coach Brian Lara when he was part of the franchise as a net bowler last season.
“I have interacted with Brian Lara a couple of times during my time as a net bowler at SunRisers Hyderabad. He has only seen me bowl. But once he heard that I was also a left-handed batter, he told me to keep working on it and I was very excited when I got to speak to him,” Vivrant said.
SRH bought overall 13 players at the IPL 2023 mini-auction – Harry Brook (INR 13.25 crore), Mayank Agarwal (INR 8.25 crore), Heinrich Klaasen (INR 5.25 crore), Adil Rashid (INR 2 crore), Mayank Markande (INR 50 lakh), Vivrant Sharma (INR 2.6 crore), Samarth Vyas (INR 20 lakh), Sanvir Singh (INR 20 lakh), Upendra Yadav (INR 25 lakh), Mayank Dagar (INR 1.8 crore), Nitish Kumar Reddy (INR 20 lakh), Akeal Hosein (INR 1 crore), Anmolpreet Singh (INR 20 lakh).
