Commentators Brett Lee and Parthiv Patel lauded Prabhsimran Singh for his impeccable ton against Delhi Capitals in IPL 2023. While Brett Lee said that Prabhsimran Singh batted beautifully in the match, Parthiv Patel said he deserves praise for smashing such a knock under pressure.

Prabhsimran Singh slammed 103 runs off 65 balls in PBKS vs DC encounter on Saturday (May 13). Smashing 10 fours and 6 sixes, he took the team’s scoreboard to a decent total of 167-7. While other PBKS batters kept on losing their wickets cheaply, Prabhsimran secured his wicket on one side and eventually scored a marvelous century for the team.

Prabhsimran Singh Played Beautifully: Brett Lee

During a conversation with fellow commentator Parthiv Patel on Jio Cinema, former Aussie pacer Brett Lee said that Prabhsimran Singh batted beautifully in the match. He also said that it was great to see him reach the 100-run mark from the 40s and 50s.

“He played beautifully. Didn’t he? In fact, he had six sixes tonight. He took on the bowling and swept very well against the spinners and had the opportunity to go down the wicket on a number of occasions. So, for me that’s the best way to play on this wicket. Great to see him go from the 40’s and 50’s up to that magical 100 mark so congratulations to him and also the Punjab Kings,” Brett Lee said.

Parthiv Patel also praised the PBKS opener and said that he scored a century on a difficult wicket under pressure.

“He hit two sixes in just one over of Mitchell Marsh. We have seen him batting like this at the domestic level. But, to come to this stage and play such shots even under pressure, and that too on such a difficult wicket. That’s why he deserves praise,” Parthiv Patel Patel said.

Punjab Kings also managed to defeat Delhi Capitals by 31 runs in the match. Defending a 168-run target, Punjab Kings bowlers restricted DC to just 136-8 in 20 overs. Harpreet Brar picked 4 wickets while Nathan Ellis and Rahul Chahar picked 2 wickets each to stun DC batters.
