Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has brutally trolled a Pakistani fan after the latter expressed his desire to see Indian and Pakistan players playing together in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Several Pakistan players participated in the inaugural season of the IPL in 2008. However, the BCCI banned them from the competition later that year in the aftermath of the terrorist attack in Mumbai.
Pakistan’s players have not played in the IPL since 2008 and are more than unlikely to play in the competition any time soon as the bilateral relation between the two countries has deteriorated a lot in recent years.
India and Pakistan do not play bilateral series against each other either. The last Test series between the two arch-rivals took place way back in 2007 while the last series between them took place in the 2012/13 season when Pakistan visited India for a short limited-overs tour. Since then, both the teams have played against each other only in ICC competitions and Asia Cup.
Harbhajan Singh’s reply to a Pakistani fan:
With the start of IPL 2024 just a week away, one Pakistani fan expressed his desire to see players from his country play in the tournament. He shared a few edited images showing Babar Azam in the Royal Challengers Bangalore jersey, Shaheen Afridi in the Mumbai Indians jersey, and Mohammad Rizwan in the Chennai Super Kings jersey.
Sharing the images, the fan wrote: “Dream for many Indian and Pakistani cricket fans..”. He also tagged Harbhajan Singh in his post and the former India spinner decided to reply to it. Taking a brutal dig at the fan, Harbhajan Singh wrote: “No Indian hv such dreams .. you guys plz stop dreaming 😴😂😂 wake up now”

Meanwhile, IPL 2022 is scheduled to be played from March 22. The BCCI has released the schedule of only 21 games so far and is expected to release the full schedule once the election dates are announced. Reigning champions Chennai Super Kings will be up against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the tournament opener.
After the IPL, the T20 World Cup will be played from June 1 to 29. India and Pakistan are in the same group and will face each other on June 9.
