Former India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar has a knack of coming up with controversial comments every now and then. And the former cricketer-turned-commentator could land in hot water for a similar statement.

Sanjay Manjrekar came up with the comment just before the start of the game between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The incident happened at the toss. Before introducing the captains, Sanjay Manjrekar revealed the reason behind Rajasthan Royals sporting an all-pink dress.

He stated that it was a part of the franchise's Pink Promise initiative. The Royals have started a campaign to support women-led transformation in Rajasthan. The franchise has announced that it will power 6 homes with solar power for every 6 that is hit by both teams during the game on Saturday (April 6).

The franchise has also announced that it will donate all proceeds from the sales to the Foundation, along with the commitment to donate ₹100 for every ticket that is purchased for the match. While Sanjay Manjrekar made no mistake in explaining the initiative, he ended his statement by bizarrely saying 'now back to serious business'.

"We are all set for the toss but before the coin goes in the air, we have got a special function here. A special day for Rajasthan Royals. Sanju Samson and his Rajasthan Royals team will be sporting an all pink outfit. This is for their pink promise which is a part of initiative that promises to support women leading the rural transformation in Rajasthan. To mark this, the captains will be handed solar lamps," said Manjrekar before adding:

"And now back to serious business."

As soon as Sanjay Manjrekar made the comments, many took to X (formerly Twitter) to slam it and called the comments distasteful. Talking about the game, RR won the toss and opted to bowl first. At the time of writing this report, RCB were on 173 for 3 in the 20th over.
