Fans on Twitter reacted after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) thumped Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 7 wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The 22nd match of the tournament took place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Monday (8th April).

Chennai Super Kings are back in the IPL 2024. After facing two back-to-back losses, they made a strong comeback and made sure that they were back on the winning ways. They were top-notch with the bat and ball as they marked their third win of the tournament.

Opting to field first, Chennai Super Kings produced a magnificent effort with the ball. After giving away 56 runs in the powerplay, they pulled back things incredibly well. Ravindra Jadeja picked three wickets in a flash to put Kolkata Knight Riders under immense pressure at their home ground.

No Kolkata Knight Riders batter could go past the 35-run mark with Shreyas Iyer being the top scorer with 34 runs. Tushar Deshpande also bagged three wickets whereas Mustafizur Rahman picked two scalps and Mahesh Theekshana also contributed one wicket as they restricted the opposition to 137/9.

With bat, it was skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, who played a vital innings for his team. The opening batter carried his bat through and slammed his first half-century of the season. He ended with the innings of an unbeaten 67 to take his team home at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Daryl Mitchell (25) and Shivam Dube (28) played a crucial role as Chennai Super Kings chased the target with ease. They won the game with 7 wickets in hand and also had 14 balls to spare in the game.
