Deepak Chahar revealed his dilemma in following both MS Dhoni and Ruturaj Gaikwad in IPL 2024. Deepak Chahar feels there is a bit of confusion to look at both of them for fielding placements and other calls. Ruturaj Gaikwad is the new skipper of CSK in IPL 2024.

MS Dhoni handed over the captaincy to the opening batter ahead of the tournament. However, it is tough to understand who is the actual skipper on the field. MS Dhoni was seen guiding players and setting fielding placements during CSK’s first two opening games against RCB and GT.

Even the cameras pointed to Dhoni more than Gaikwad in both games. Hence, commentators Virender Sehwag and Suresh Raina also took a jibe at CSK captaincy as Dhoni led the way and Gaikwad took a backseat.

Have to look at both MS Dhoni and Ruturaj Gaikwad: Deepak Chahar

During a conversation with IPL 2024 commentator Sunil Gavaskar on Star Sports, Deepak Chahar revealed it is a little confusing for him to follow both MS Dhoni and Ruturaj Gaikwad on the field. He also added he looks at both for field placements and all.

“I have to look at Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) and at Ruturaj (Gaikwad) – both of them these days for field placements and all. So there is a bit of a confusion where to look now but Ruturaj is doing well and he is leading the way,” Chahar said.

Meanwhile, Deepak Chahar bowled a decent spell during the CSK vs GT encounter on Tuesday. The right-arm seamer clinched 2 wickets across 4 overs at an economy of 7.0. In the opening game against RCB, Chahar clinched 1 wicket.
