Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Maheesh Theekshana lavished rich praise on skipper MS Dhoni ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He said that the keeper-batter gives the player huge confidence by showing faith in every bowler.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni arguably is one of the finest captains to have ever played the game. The way he nurtures his players is one of the highlights of his leadership and this is how he brings the best out of his players and guides them to excel in their respective fields.

MS Dhoni has guided Chennai Super Kings to five titles in the IPL and will now be eyeing to bag his sixth title. The keeper-batter potentially will be playing his last season in the league this year as he mentioned himself that he will give a return gift to fans by pushing himself for one more season.

Sri Lanka spinner Maheesh Theekshana is one of the players who has developed under MS Dhoni. The keeper-batter has shown great confidence in the spinner and has used him to his best ability, trusting him to bowl him in the powerplay as well as the new ball.

Maheesh Theekshana said that playing under MS Dhoni is a privilege as he shows confidence in every bowler. He pointed out how the skipper shows trust in his bowlers. Speaking to Cricket.com, he stated:

“Playing under MS Dhoni is a privilege – he has faith in every bowler – we are also getting confidence, even if we are going for runs – he gives us the ball later in the innings and backs us – that is a huge confidence.”

He can play for another 2-3 seasons – Deepak Chahar on MS Dhoni

CSK pacer Deepak Chahar also recently talked about MS Dhoni, saying that the keeper-batter can play for 2-3 seasons. The fast bowler also provided the injury update about the keeper-batter, saying that he has recovered fully.

He also admitted that it will be difficult for Chennai Super Kings to play without MS Dhoni in the IPL. Speaking to PTI about the same, he explained:

“I think he has a lot to give to cricket. He can play for another 2-3 seasons. I have seen him bat in the nets. Obviously, he had an injury that anyone can have, people at 24 have that same injury that he has.”

He has recovered well. For me personally, he should play for another 2-3 years. But it’s his call. He told everyone he was going to play his last game in Chennai. I think he will only decide. For us, it will be very difficult to play for CSK without him. Everyone has (always) seen CSK with Mahi bhai.”

MS Dhoni has kick-started his preparations for the IPL 2024. He was seen batting in the nets and would be hoping to bag another title under his belt. On the other hand, Deepak Chahar too will be making his comeback in the IPL. He recently took a break from cricket after his father got sick.
