Fans on Twitter reacted after Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Hardik Pandya didn’t give the new ball to Jasprit Bumrah in the ongoing game against Gujarat Titans (GT). The 5th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is taking place at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to field first. It was expected that he would give the new ball to premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah. But that wasn’t the case as the fast bowler didn’t get a taste of the new ball in conditions, which swing early on.

Hardik Pandya, instead took the new ball ahead of Jasprit Bumrah. His move didn’t work at all Gujarat Titans openers Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha showed no mercy and took him to the cleaners in the first two overs that he bowled in the powerplay.

On the other end, Hardik Pandya gave the new ball to Luke Wood, who bowled a decent over and gave away only 6 runs. The all-rounder gave the ball to Jasprit Bumrah in the 4th over and the premier fast bowler didn’t take long to make an impact as he delivered a sensational over.

Jasprit Bumrah on the last ball of the over bowled a searing yorker that crashed on the stumps and left Wriddhiman Saha left clueless. However, what caught the attention of many was after being picked wicket, Bumrah was taken out of the attack once again.

The game so far hasn’t been going in favor of Hardik Pandya. The all-rounder received huge boos from the crowd when he came at the toss. In the two overs that he bowled, he also gave away 20 runs and didn’t have the kind of impact he would’ve wanted.
