Reputed commentator Ian Bishop came up with a unique suggestion on how BCCI can manage Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mayank Yadav and keep him fit for long. He urged the governing body to get a specialized strength and conditioning trainer to monitor him for the next 2 years.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Mayank Yadav has made every cricket lover praise him for his heroics in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The fast bowler has troubled batters with his express pace and played a huge role in his team winning two back-to-back games from a losing position.
Mayank Yadav broke into the scene in the game against the Punjab Kings. Till the time he came into the attack, the opposition team were easing their way into victory and it seemed that they would win the game dominantly. However, the introduction of a fast bowler in the attack changed the entire complexion of the game.
Mayank Yadav straight away clocked 155kmph and troubled the Punjab Kings batters with his pacer. He ran through the top order and tilted the game in his team's favor. He returned with the figures of 3/27 and helped his team win the game in his maiden outing in the league.
Mayank Yadav's best came in the game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, which was his second IPL game. He wreaked havoc across the opposition's batting lineup and returned with the figures of 3/14, winning another Man of the Match. What was the highlight of the game was the way he troubled Australian batters Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green with his pace.
Mayank Yadav in the next game against Gujarat Titans struggled with his pace and then walked off the field with injury. The fast bowler will be missing a few more games for the team. He has been struggling with the side strain and maintaining him will be one of the biggest challenges for the team he plays for.
Ian Bishop believes that the super talent of Mayank Yadav needs to be preserved and he needs to be given a personal strength and conditioning coach. Taking to his Twitter account, he explained:
"Been discussing this idea privately with a colleague for the past week. Re the "special" talent of Mayank Yadav. It's an opportune time in cricket to explore the test of assigning a personal S & C trainer, & medical expertise year-round to monitor him for the next 2 years."

Deserves a place in the T20 World Cup squad - MSK Prasad on Mayank Yadav
Former BCCI selector MSK Prasad recently talked about Mayank Yadav, saying that if players are struggling to bring the bat down then he will be handy for the team. He believes that the fast bowler deserves a place in the Indian team for T20 World Cup 2024. Speaking to RevSportz, he explained:
"If they are not able to bring the bat down against the pace he has been generating I think he will be handy. And looking at the Indian bowling, especially with Shami now being ruled out, the selectors must be looking for a third seamer after Bumrah and Siraj. Someone with that kind of pace and accuracy, deserves a place in the T20 World Cup squad," he concluded.
