IPL 2024 commentary panel announced by official broadcasters; Ravi Shastri steals the show

Star Sports, on Saturday (March 16), announced a star-studded lineup of commentators for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The highly-awaited IPL 2024 is less than a week away.

The seventeenth season of the IPL is scheduled to be played from March 22. Reigning champions Chennai Super Kings will be locking horns against Royal Challengers Bangalore in a mouth-watering tournament opener in Chennai. Last month, the BCCI announced the schedule for the first 21 games of the tournament, scheduled to be played from March 22 to April 7.

And while the BCCI is yet to announce the full schedule of IPL 2024, Star Sports have announced the full list of commentators and presenters. For the coverage in Hindi, they have announced as many as 19 commentators including the likes of Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan, Ambati Rayudu, Ravi Shastri, Imran Tahir, Mohammad Kaif, and others.

For the English coverage, Star Sports has announced the names of 27 commentators including Michael Clarke who was reportedly dumped by the BCCI last year after a video of his altercation with his girlfriend surfaced. Apart from the 27 commentators, Star have also announced six former international players as part of the IPL coverage.
