Jasprit Bumrah is expected to join the Mumbai Indians squad ahead of their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 opener against the Gujarat Titans. Jasprit Bumrah will join the team at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad just a few days before their first game.

Jasprit Bumrah is currently absent from the Mumbai Indians camp as he is on a break following the conclusion of the fifth India-England Test in Dharamsala, which ended on March 9. It’s worth noting that he was sidelined from the previous season due to injury.

The pre-season camp for the Mumbai Indians commenced in Mumbai on March 12, with the majority of players and support staff present. Unfortunately, the team faced a setback as Jason Behrendorff sustained a freak injury during training, ruling him out of IPL 2024.

Jasprit Bumrah Will Join Team In Ahmedabad On March 21

Jasprit Bumrah is set to join the Mumbai Indians’ squad in Ahmedabad on March 21. As per News18, Bumrah is fit and available for MI’s tournament opener against the Gujarat Titans. He will have a few days of practice before the first match on March 24.

“Yes, Jasprit Bumrah will join the team directly in Ahmedabad on March 21. He will have good 2-3 days of practice there before the first match vs Gujarat Titans on March 24,” informs a source close to developments, as quoted by News18.

Bumrah has been a part of the MI team since his debut in 2013. The right-arm pacer secured three wickets in his first season with an economy rate of 10. Despite lackluster early IPL performances, he has since become one of the premier fast bowlers in the league.

The 30-year-old was part of MI’s five IPL victories, spanning from 2013 to 2020. His consistent performances have been instrumental in the Mumbai Indians’ success. He has taken 145 wickets in 120 matches with an average of 23.30 and an economy rate of 7.39.

The ace pacer has been experiencing a resurgence in form since recovering from a stress fracture injury in his back. He enjoyed tremendous success in the Asia Cup 2023 and World Cup 2023, and he has carried this form into the red-ball series against England.
